I spotted these adorable Douc Langur monkeys while we hovered in our saucy saucer over Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. They are the most colorful monkey and sometimes are called, for obvious reasons, the Costumed Ape. I love their fat little bellies and the fact that they look like they are wearing red, grey or black leg warmers. These little monkeys only grow to an average of 24 lbs and are 24 to 30 inches tall. They live in the upper canopy of the rainforest trees and eat plants. I saw some of them leaping 20 feet! Human conservationists calculate there only a few thousand left in the wild. They are endangered due mostly to hunting by humans for food and sport.
