The American Pika is too busy trying to survive the changing environment of the Earth to stop and share his lunch with you, Earthling. This cute herbivore lives in the mountains of the northern US and British Columbia. This little guy is endangered.
If you have not met a Pika, just look above the tree line (8000 meters high) of your nearest mountain. They live inside piles of rocks.
Global warming is killing the American Pika according to human biologists. They can only live in cool, high elevation regions and are very sensitive to temperatures. As the temperature rises they climb higher up the mountains. The Pika can die within the hour if the outside temperature rises above 75 degrees Fahrenheit. Any ideas on how to help these cute Earthlings?
