We spotted this adorable Earthling, a Magellan Penguin, thousands of miles from his icy home in southern Chile. He had actually reached Peru’s coast. We think he got lost searching for food and caught a ride on the wrong ocean current. Friendly human scientists at the National Paracas Reserve in southern Peru helped the penguin with his injured wing, possibly caused by a fishing net. Now they are trying to help him find his way back home. More on this story at Seabirds.org
Two Sumatran tiger cubs have become inseparable from
two baby orang-utans after their respective mothers abandoned them.
The Sumatran Tiger is the smallest tiger of five types of tigers left in on the planet Earth. They have lived for
over one million years in the tropical jungles of the island of
Sumatra, Indonesia. The population of the Sumatran Tiger in the wild is
in extreme danger and there are only about 400 to 500 individuals
remaining.
I rode with Zork in the Saucer over Brazil's rain forests searching for this adorable golden money. We spotted only a few. I am sad to say they are endangered with only about 1000 left in the wild and about 500 in captivity.
This cute Earthing is called a Red Panda. He is an endangered species. Humans also call it a Lesser Panda (I don't understand this), a Wah (because of its
distinctive cry), a Bear Cat or a Firefox (after the browser?).
The Red Panda is a mostly herbivorous mammal eating mostly bamboo. It a little larger than a typical house cat. Like a house cat the Red Panda spends most of its time sleeping, due to its low calorie diet.
